Walnut Brownies
Walnut brownies
3/4C Cocoa Powder (Unsweetened)
1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
2/3 C Butter - melted
1/2 C boiling water
2 C Sugar
2 Eggs
1 tsp. Vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/3 C Flour
2 C Chocolate Chips
1 C Walnuts (coarsely chopped) plus more to sprinkle on the top (if you like)

Grease and flour a 9 x 13 pan. Set aside.
Heat the oven to 350 degrees.
In a large bowl - combine the cocoa powder, baking soda and half of the melted butter - stir until smooth.
Add the boiling water and stir until thick.
Add in Sugar, eggs, remaining butter, vanilla & salt.
Add the flour & chocolate chips at the same time. Stir until just combined.
Stir in 1C walnuts.
Pour into your prepared pan.
If desired - sprinkle additional walnuts on the very top of the batter.
Bake 35-40 Minutes. (I take them out when still gooey in the center because who doesn’t love gooey brownies?)
Cool & sprinkle with powdered sugar (if desired).
